SING is bribed by PONG and LING is discontented that SING betrays justice for money. They quarrel and LING runs away. As YI knows that CHING has not recovered completely, she goes out to work, leaving CHING to take care of their son. Moreover she refuses to help YUEN helping her as she does not want to have any scandal. CHING knows that he has been proved guilty and he also hears from the neighbours that there is a filthy relationship between YUEN and YI. He feels inferior.

CHING knows that he has been proved guilty and he also hears from the After careful consideration, CHING knows that he has not take the duty of being a good husband and father. Thus he decides to retreat from the entanglement and he tries to bridge YI and YUEN. YI cannot take CHING’s advice but after her friend MABEL’s persuasion, at last she agrees to divorce. As CHUN LEUNG thinks that MEI abandons all her achievement for CHING, he feels jealous and tries to spoil their relationship. LING is depressed as she is disappointed to know that CHING does not love her even YI has left him. CHING loses his job and has to work in a construction site as a manual labour. One day, he and some other workers are sent down a deep well where an explosion occurs.
