Miss Gribble's presence at Larkfield Manor elicits the worst behavior of the family and servants, who are divided in their opinions. Arthur and Rosemary speak privately about the wedding. Nanny investigates Miss Gribble's claims, leading to a confrontation in the nursery.

With the wedding a month away, Liz has not selected a wedding gown, and she apologizes to the Cartlands for being distracted by Arthur's upcoming bi-election. Vicky fears that she will be unable to successfully perform an upcoming recital on which her musical career hinges.
