He is embarrassed when Connie and Henry put a deposit on a computer for the girls, expecting him to pay the balance. Later, Joe learns he has got a job, but his cover is blown when a sub-contractor arrives on his doorstep demanding payment for work.

Brendan and Tess enjoy a spontaneous intimate dinner together and afterwards, when his car won't start, Tess offers Brendan the couch to stay overnight. This is strange yet familiar territory - spending the night under the same roof.
