When Senior Investigating Officer Ann Stallwood arrives to take charge of the whole operation it becomes apparent that she and Tolin have history. Tolin interviews Gareth in hospital to find out if the officers who pursued him and Alice were responsible for the accident. But why did van driver Danny Rampton flee the scene? And what exactly has secretary Karen Donnelly stolen from the chemical company where she works?
