Mom says Caillou will have to be a detective and together they search the house, looking for clues. Eventually they find Gilbert curled up and fast asleep in Caillou’s bed.

He decides to make his own breakfast—and then gets the idea to make Mom and Dad a surprise breakfast. It’s a lot of hard work and he does make a bit of a mess, but Caillou’s surprise breakfast is a big success.
